Inventing Your Own Marketing Niche

There are 2 basic steps you need to do, when you invent your marketing niche. First, discover a market that is niche and 'uncharted'. Second, invent or explore the right product to feed your market. To Niche Or Not To Niche?

Unless you've been hibernating for the last couple of years, you've probably heard the term "Niche Marketing" a lot. It's one of the current buzz-words in online marketing. Which is kind of funny really since niche marketing has actually been around pretty much as long as marketing has existed. But what is it? I recently read somewhere that "All marketing is Niche Marketing". I don't entirely agree with that - I'd say "ALMOST ALL marketing is Niche Marketing". Niche Marketing is marketing products or services to groups of people (or businesses) who have specific needs or interests in common. Obviously department stores and their online cousins don't fit that description, but almost everything else is ... you guessed it; "Niche Marketing". In the physical world, your local butcher, baker and candlestick maker (sorry, a LITTLE joke there - very little), greengrocer, shoe store, etc, etc. all cater to niche markets, some more...

Niche Marketing - a Potential Goldmine

You may have heard the word 'niche' being batted around by Internet Marketers. Finding a niche has become the antidote to competing in overly saturated online markets. What is a niche? According to Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary a niche is described as "a place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted... a specialized market". Have you noticed that despite the closing of many businesses in these harsh economic times, the local hobby train store is still around? That the 'hole-in-the-wall' eatery is thriving? Or that trends such as scrapbooking can start with a bang and still close within a year when four similar businesses start up in the same area? The online business world reflects the same trends as experienced in the offline world - often with faster turnover and startup rates. Those who promote a product or site that targets a small, select audience can tap into a market that is otherwise not being served. Despi...

Marketing, Niching Niche Markets

Niche Marketing, in simple terms is all about targeting hot topics, providing the answers, and making them available to search engines and you. Staying with the basics, here are just a few steps required in creating a Niche Market: 1. Find out what people are most interested in. 2. Create or find a product that gives the answers. 3. Advertise your product on a mini site using Pay Per Click Search Engines. Of course, as with everything, when you dig a little deeper, you find variables. One such variable is about determining the specifics of a search term's popularity. For example, you might discover that people are really interested in "pet care." However, there are literally hundreds of different pets people have, and multiple breeds of each. So you must narrow things down a bit by researching which pet information is more sought after than others. Do searches on "tropical fish", "dogs", "cats", "ferrets", etc. until you have a good...
